At KnitRealms & Meitong Cashmere, we understand that for the local cashmere industry to thrive, the well-being of herders and their families is equally as important as the welfare of the goats.
We require herders to ensure that all staff working with the goats are well-trained and competent. Additionally, our goat farming practices must protect the land—ensuring that the coexistence of farmers and animals creates no pollution and has no adverse impact on local biodiversity.
Social standards must be upheld across both small and large farms, covering children's and workers' rights, gender equality, fair compensation, as well as health and safety. Herders are also required to comply with all management standards and audit regulations.
